Infrared Technology

What is Infrared Technology?
The sun's energy produces wavelengths which are called infrared waves. They are broken down into near, mid and far. These are the waves that produce heat and are known to scientists as thermal waves. To understand how far infrared heat works, picture yourself outside on a sunny day. When you are standing in a shadow, you feel cooler than when you are standing in direct sunlight. The air temperature around you hasn’t changed, but when you are in the sunlight you feel the heat from the infrared waves of the sun. The far infrared rays are what our body’s nerve endings are sensing. They are responsible for the feeling of warmth we experience when we are exposed to sunlight.
Is infrared head safe?
Far infrared allows you to enjoy the warmth of the sun without the harmful effects of the sun’s UV rays. Far infrared light waves are completely natural and absolutely safe. In fact, far infrared heat is so safe it is used in hospitals to warm newborn infants. Even NASA uses infrared therapy as part of their program for their astronauts to maintain cardiovascular fitness on long space flights. They discovered this after numerous trials in the 1980's. The same electrical standards required for safety of your home are implemented into the electrical system of our saunas.
How does the Relaxed Fitness ® Infrared Sauna work?
Relaxed Fitness ® Saunas use wide panel carbon heaters. During a sauna session the occupant is surrounded by 8 panels of heat (back, front, sides and bench) at a comfortable temperature. An effective temperature range for most people is between 115F-130F. The tolerable temperature allows the occupant to remain in the sauna for 30-60 minutes or as long as they desire. The infrared rays heat the occupant penetrating 2-3 inches deep into the core of the body reaching the muscle tissue, fat cells and organs. Far infrared saunas increase the body's core temperature thus resulting in a much deeper, more detoxifying sweat from the cellular level of the skin where many toxins are stored.
